Citizen journalism is when everyday people can start becoming journalists (producing our own news stories).
New digital technologies have changed the ecology of our society, by giving citizens more power than ever, making it arguably more democratic. Social media has enabled audiences to take part in online activist campaigns such as George Floyd movement and Trump's Tulsa rally, with many issues that were previously controlled by the state, being brought more into the public sphere.
