 TASK:

Can you please choose to visit ONE of the newspaper websites below and make some notes about how they have embraced and are using new digital technologies such as Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Apps, Games, Tik Tok, Snapchat etc. You may need to click around on lots of pages to see any examples.

The Sun has an instagram account where they post pictures of celebrities and a caption about what is going on with them in the caption. The sun also has its own app. On their youtube channel, they posr videos about real world events like natural disasters, protests, etc.

Newspaper Notes

 

Please go to Private Study and do some research, making some notes on how the newspaper industry is declining in the U.K. why are newspaper sales falling? Try to find at least a few reasons. Also can you find any ideas of things newspapers are doing to tackle this problem and boost sales? Try and write down some specific facts and statistics as examples. And try and focus on the U.K. and U.K. examples.

New digital technologies have changed the ecology of our society, by giving citizens more power than ever, making it arguably more democratic. Social media has enabled audiences to take part in online activist campaigns such as George Floyd movement and Trump's Tulsa rally, with many issues that were previously controlled by the state, being brought more into the public sphere.
